1. The tool
AO3 Formatter is a free Hexakin web tool. It converts .docx, .txt, or .md (or pasted text) into HTML you can copy into Archive of Our Own. Work happens in your browser. No account. No paid plan on the public site.
2. No affiliation
AO3 Formatter is not affiliated with Archive of Our Own or the Organization for Transformative Works. AO3 is their mark.
3. Your content
You keep all rights in writing you paste or drop into the formatter. We claim none of it. Keep your own backups. Preview before you post.
4. Acceptable use
Use the site to format your own work. Do not attack the service, overload it, or send malware through the contact form.
5. As-is
The tool is provided as-is. Formatting may differ from AO3's editor. We do not promise uninterrupted service or a perfect conversion of every file.
6. Age
Do not use the contact form if you are under 13.
7. Changes
If the public tool changes, these terms will be updated on this page.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are heard in the courts of England and Wales.
